Terms of use

In short

  • 18+ only. Use supertracer to check people you are about to deal with, for your own safety.
  • Never use it to stalk, harass, track or expose anyone, on photos of children, or for decisions about jobs, housing, credit or insurance.
  • Results are approximate matches from public pages, not proof of identity. Verify before you act.
  • A search that finds nothing is not charged. Credits are spent when results unlock.

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and supertracer, run by Sagar Tamang (“we”, “us”). They cover the website at supertracer.app, the dashboard, the Android app and the developer API. By signing in or using any of them you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you use supertracer for an organisation, you accept them for that organisation too.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for your account and for everything done with it, including through your API keys. Keep your sign-in and keys private, and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used them.

What results are

supertracer looks for public web pages showing a face or photo similar to the one you upload. A match means the images look alike; it does not confirm who anyone is. Results can miss pages, include look-alikes, or point at pages that have changed. Names shown come from the pages themselves, not from us. Always verify a result yourself before you rely on it, and never take action against someone on the strength of a match alone.

We do not control the pages results link to and are not responsible for their content. Search engines and sites may change what they show at any time, so the same photo may give different results on different days.

Acceptable use

supertracer is for personal safety and identity checks: vetting a dating match, spotting a fake profile, or checking a seller, driver or freelancer before you deal with them, and finding where your own photos appear. You must not use it, or help anyone use it, to:

  • stalk, track, monitor, harass, threaten, intimidate, dox or expose anyone, or find someone who does not want to be found;
  • search photos of anyone under 18;
  • make or support decisions about a person’s employment, housing, credit, insurance, education or eligibility for any benefit;
  • identify people at protests, places of worship, clinics or other sensitive places, or infer anyone’s sensitive traits;
  • search photos you have no right to use, or intimate images of anyone;
  • discriminate against anyone, or break any law, including privacy, data protection and anti-stalking laws;
  • build a database of faces or people, resell results, or offer supertracer to others as part of your own service;
  • scrape, overload or reverse engineer the service, get around limits, locks or credits, or use automated access other than the developer API.

We may review activity that looks like misuse, and report credible threats to people’s safety to the authorities.

Your photos

You keep all rights to the photos you upload. You give us permission to process each one to run your search, including sending it to the search services named in the privacy policy. You confirm that you are allowed to use the photo for that purpose. We do not keep the uploaded photo after the search; your history keeps a small thumbnail until you delete it.

Credits and plans

  • Results are found for everyone. Seeing the links and sharp photos of a search uses credits (currently one per search); if you have credits, a finished search unlocks on its own. A search that finds nothing is never charged.
  • Free searches are limited, per account and per device. On the website a free search is a preview; in the Android app it shows the full results. Daily search limits apply to every account.
  • Credits come from plans, one-off packs, and promo and invite codes. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are lost if your account is deleted.
  • Monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan and its credits stay until the end of the period you paid for. Upgrades take effect immediately and charge the difference; downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
  • Payments are handled by Dodo Payments as merchant of record, under its own terms. The Android app sells nothing. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future periods.
  • Purchases are non-refundable once credits have been used, except where the law gives you a right to a refund. If something went wrong, write to [email protected] and we will look at it.

Developer API

API keys come with the plans that include them and stop working when the plan ends. Each key is rate-limited. API use is bound by these terms in full, including the acceptable-use rules, for every search your integration runs; you are responsible for your users’ searches. Do not show results to people who have not agreed to equivalent rules.

Restricted tools

Some tools in the dashboard, such as 3D scenes, are closed by default and are shown as demonstrations. Access is granted case by case on request. Their person details are fictional sample data and do not identify anyone.

Suspension and ending

You can stop using supertracer at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the privacy policy). We may suspend or close an account, without refund of unused credits, if it breaks these terms, risks harm to anyone, or if the law requires it. We may change or discontinue features; if we shut down a paid service we will refund the unused part of any plan period you paid for.

Warranties and liability

supertracer is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that results are complete, accurate or fit for any purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for anything you do based on a result, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to compensate us for claims and costs that arise from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be settled by the courts of India, unless the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim at home. We will update these terms from time to time; if a change is significant we will tell signed-in users before it applies. Using supertracer after a change means you accept it.
